Tree Trimming

Pruning a tree is the most common tree maintenance task.  It maintains the safety of the tree, improves tree structure and health, as well as improving the appearance of the tree (if done correctly).

Understanding the biology and basic needs of the tree is essential in order to optimize the tree's health and structure.

Here are some examples of pruning objectives:

  • reducing the potential risk of limb/tree failure by removing dead, diseased, broken or weakly attached branches

  • providing clearance from a structure, light, walkway, driveway,

       roadway or powerlines

  • improving a view

  • improving light filtering

  • influencing fruit or flower production

  • enhancing tree structure

All work performed follows ANSI (American National Standards Institute)

A300 Pruning Standards.
